Othercide, a game released on 28th July 2020 however now i got the chance to play it.
Developed by Lightbulb Crew and published by Focus Entertainment , it offers a remarkable experience of turn based tactics with amazing animations and memorable fights.
You lead an army of Daughters, echoes of a greatest warrior that has ever lived, are the last ones that stand between Suffering and death.
There are 4 classes of daughters:
The Shieldbearer which is basically a tank.
The Blademaster which is melee dps.
The Soulslinger a ranged dps.
The Scythedancer, a melee and a ranged dps.
The first three are available from the beginning.
Whereas you will gain the last one, the Scythedancer on the Maid's third phase (boss fight)
The fights are turn based, meaning each unit play a turn.
Each unit has action points which are spent by either moving or using a skill. You can even skip a turn if you feel like to.
Depending on the fight you either must kill every enemy, escort to safe zone, survive until extraction or kill enough enemies for the fight to end.
As you progress through the story fighting cutlists and nightmare creatures, your daughters gain experience which contributes at gaining levels , increase in attributes and skills.
Skills can have memories assigned to them , you earn memories through fights, which evolves them.
There are a whole bunch of memories which refer to damage increase, critical damage, gain initiatives, gain armor and many more.
Othercide offers a campaign of five eras each dedicated to one of the five bosses.
Each era constists of days that lead up to the last one to which then you must encounter the boss.
I found the hardest boss to be the Maid.
Until i read her abilities and carefully think before i exexute any actions.
Last boss, the Suffering, was the one i didnt even get hit.
There is a specific tactic and placement of your daughters that will not allow Suffering to even make a single move. (Check my last video of the playlist)
I really enjoyed the game overall, the art style, the visuals, the fighting, the animations, the story, i enjoyed ever single thing.
Highly recommended.
